The goal of the Balance of State Housing Assistance Common Fund program is to prevent Nebraska homeowners from losing their homes as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nebraska homeowners who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and are in mortgage arrears or foreclosure. The program is designed to assist with unpaid mortgage that began on or after March 1, 2020, as a direct result of the pandemic. Eligible households must not have received other federal, state, or local assistance for the same debt.
The program serves households with current income at 80% AMI (area median income) or under for their county of residence.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides nutritious supplemental food from USDA to seniors 60 years of age and older. Participants must also meet income guidelines.
Individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. We offer rapid rehousing for homeless families and homeless prevention for those at risk.
We distribute donated perishable and non-perishable food, household items, and paper products, distributed to families and individuals in emergency situations. Several centers receive donations of USDA food from the Lincoln Food Bank.
Housing Counseling assists individuals and families in becoming mortgage ready through pre-purchase homebuyer education and one-on-one case management.
Medicaid Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Private Vaccines are offered in Fillmore, Jefferson, Saline and Seward Counties. All clients must make an appointment and have their insurance eligibility confirmed prior to receiving any vaccines. Walk-ins are NOT accepted at this time. Please bring your insurance card to each visit.
We promote housing stability among very low-income Veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. Through the provision of outreach and case management, assistance is given to obtain VA benefits and other public benefits.
We sell clothing, household, and other miscellaneous items donated by the general public at thrift stores for the general public.
Low-income families are able to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient through our weatherization services.
WIC is the nation’s most successful public health nutrition program. We provide healthy food, nutrition education, and community support to income-eligible pregnant women, mothers of infants, and children up to 5 years old.
