An Equal Opportunity Program
Individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. We offer rapid rehousing for homeless families and homeless prevention for those at risk.
We move individuals and families from homelessness toward stable housing opportunities using the Housing First Model. Several separate homeless programs may be available, depending on funding and consumer demographics.
We promote housing stability among very low-income Veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. Through the provision of outreach and case management, assistance is given to obtain VA benefits and other public benefits.
A voluntary service for families and individuals needing support with resources or services which will help them thrive and avoid becoming involved in formal government systems. This includes single and two parent families with children 18 years of age and younger who are residing with them; pregnant or parenting youth/young adults; or young adults without children 19 to 24 years of age.
For youth who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. We work together with youth to identify and obtain housing, work on retaining that housing, connect to supports and resources, and address the issues which led them to the homeless ituation.
SOAR provides assistance in navigating through the process of applying for Supplemental Security Income and/or Social Security Disability Insurance.
We sell clothing, household, and other miscellaneous items donated by the general public at thrift stores for the general public.
WIC is the nation’s most successful public health nutrition program. We provide healthy food, nutrition education, and community support to income-eligible pregnant women, mothers of infants, and children up to 5 years old.
We distribute donated perishable and non-perishable food, household items, and paper products, distributed to families and individuals in emergency situations. Several centers receive donations of USDA food from the Lincoln Food Bank.
We are now accepting applications for our 2022-2023 scholarships. All scholarships will be in the amount of $1,000 and can be used for tuition, books and fees associated with enrollment. Check out our “BVCA Partnership Scholarship Opportunities” page for more information.
