About the Program

Head Start provides free comprehensive early childhood education services in a classroom setting while engaging families. 

Head Start is a nationally renowned child development program for preschool children ages 3-5, which stresses parent involvement, education, social services and health.

To be participate in the Early Head Start Program, you must be income-eligible, be expecting or have a child under the age of three.

We Serve

Children ages three to five and their families who fall within the poverty guidelines or other selection criteria should apply. People who qualify may do so based on income, disability, and a number of other qualifying factors.

Located in Crete, Nebraska – Saline Co., Blue River Family Center is a daycare center for families who are looking for childcare during the week Monday – Friday for children and infants ages six-weeks to 12 years of age.

The Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program (BFPC) provides education and support for pregnant and postpartum women to ensure a successful breast-feeding experience. The BFPC program is based on the FNS WIC Breastfeeding Model for Peer Counseling (formerly called Loving Support© Model for Peer Counseling).

This is a free home-based program in which family advocates provide a weekly home visit and offer comprehensive services.

We offer an Early Head Start center-based program that provides comprehensive services beyond the classroom for prenatal parents and their children up to age three. We are located in Jefferson County at Kids Connection Daycare and Saline County at Blue River Family Center.

Medicaid Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Private Vaccines are offered in Fillmore, Jefferson, Saline and Seward Counties. All clients must make an appointment and have their insurance eligibility confirmed prior to receiving any vaccines. Walk-ins are NOT accepted at this time. Please bring your insurance card to each visit.

We are here for center-based daycares and in-home daycares looking for coaching and support on licensing, child development, and more.

Telehealth services are for individuals who are not comfortable with technology or for those that simply do not have access to a computer, smart phone or internet but still need to connect to our services. While BVCA Partnership is focusing these services for elderly, homeless, and/or low-income individuals, our Telehealth services are available to anyone who has a need.

WIC is the nation’s most successful public health nutrition program. We provide healthy food, nutrition education, and community support to income-eligible pregnant women, mothers of infants, and children up to 5 years old.
