About the Program

The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program provides financial assistance to repair substandard single family homes. The funds are given as conditional grants, deferred loans, or low-interest loans.

Program is available for homes located in the incorporated cities, towns and unincorporated villages of Butler, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Polk, Saline, Seward, Thayer and York Counties.

Home must be primary a residence, with insurance and taxes up to date. Rentals and mobile homes are ineligible. Participants who received owner-occupied housing rehabilitation in the last 10 years are not eligible. 

We Serve

Homeowners with household incomes below 100% of the area median income are eligible. Individuals and families who own their home and are unable to afford needed home repairs.

The Homeownership Opportunity Program provides assistance for the purchase of existing or newly constructed single-family homes. The funds are available to assist individuals and families with closing costs and down payment. 

The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program provides financial assistance to repair substandard single family homes. The funds are given as conditional grants, deferred loans, or low-interest loans.

The Purchase-Rehab/Lease Purchase Program allows potential homeowners a two-year leasing window to prepare for homeownership while being provided the opportunity to save for a down payment.

Low-income families are able to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient through our weatherization services.

We offer emergency repair or replacement for heating and A/C units for homeowners who qualify as low-income due to potentially hazardous conditions.
